ESB congress in Wroclaw, 2002 was my first major academic conference that gave me a broad view at various branches of biomechanics. I still recall inspiring invited lectures, hopeless try to attend various sessions at the same time, meeting people I know by name from the articles and nervousness of my very first podium presentation. I am sure that ESB Congress in Prague will provide similar experiences to first attendees, friendly environment to scientists who have been around and I hope that I can contribute to it as a member of the organization committee.
