Patient-Specific Implant Design and Validation

Annotation:

This hands-on training introduces the attendee to patient-specific implant design and validation. During the pre-course, expert presentations by scientists and clinicians will build the framework to understand underlying research and clinical challenges to the design process. The attendee will use dedicated biomedical software, the Mimics Innovation Suite, to create patient-specific implants, starting from the creation of an accurate 3D reconstruction of the patient from image data, over implant design directly on the anatomy, to a realistic FEA validation of your design.

This pre-course to the European Congress of Biomechanics 2015 will be held in Prague at Czech Technical University.

• Getting started: from DICOM to 3D
• Biomechanical analysis in 3D for a better understanding of anatomical structures
